Key Qualifications
While on the job, it is the way of each Forrest General team member to observe the four service standards of the Forrest General Way.
Courtesy, Efficiency, Safety and Show:
Courtesy is a must when working in an organization charged with healing the sick and injured...we expect our team members to treat patients, families and hospital visitors with respect, dignity and to observe privacy...we must add a personal touch to our care by smiling, using friendly phrases, and treating every patient as an individual.
Efficiency at all levels is critical to our success...it takes teamwork to provide smooth and effective health care service...even if you’re not serving the patient, you are serving someone who is...whether its housekeeping duties, food service, nursing or any one of the many occupations within the hospital, it is the role of all team members to be efficient in their job.
Safety is the job of every single Forrest General team member...we must provide a safe environment for our patients, visitors and ourselves...team members are expected to comply with all policies concerning safety and infection control...that means wearing appropriate clothing and safety gear...it means undergoing drug testing and periodic health screens...and it means guarding against physical hazards that could result in an accident.
Show is perhaps the most important service standard of the Forrest General Way...a "good show" refers to a team member exemplifying any service standard of the Forrest General Way...it is also looking the part: dressing professionally and appropriately for the job...for example, forrest general team members are issued identification badges...we are expected to wear our badges whenever we are on duty.
Patients expect us to pay attention to the details as part of their hospital experience. And, as a member of the Forrest General team, you will be looked upon by the public as a representative of this hospital. As such, our hospital will often be judged by the integrity of your character within the community. We expect our team members to conduct themselves accordingly.
These are some of the qualities we expect of our team members. Should you become an employee of the hospital, you’ll be learning more about the Forrest General Way and what it means to our organization.
